MAACO To Be Featured On CBS’s ‘Undercover Boss,’ Friday, Jan. 2

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jose Costa, president of MAACO, will be featured on CBS’s hit series “Undercover Boss,” Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 (8-9 p.m., ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. This episode marks the series’ return to its Friday timeslot.

“Undercover Boss” follows high-level executives as they slip anonymously into the rank-and-file of their own organizations. Currently in its sixth season, this reality series has received two Emmy Awards and multiple Emmy Award nominations.

Venezuelan-born, Costa joined MAACO in 2013 and is responsible for implementing a culture for positive change among a deeply rooted franchise system. In the episode, Costa experiences a day in the life of four MAACO employees, during which, among other tasks, he sands, preps and paints consumer vehicles. As an “Undercover Boss,” he developed lasting friendships and respect for MAACO employees and owners.

“There were so many humbling moments during my undercover experience,” said Costa. “The work that is done in our shops to help customers repair and restore their vehicles is incredibly labor intensive. The most rewarding moments were being able to give back to deserving employees who may not have been recognized without the help of the show.”

With more than 450 MAACO franchises across North America, Costa leads the system on the bold objective of doubling the size of the company in less than five years.

“I would recommend this experience to every boss,” added Costa. “The friendships that I built and the gratification that I feel are indescribable.”
