NEW ALBANY, Ohio – Commercial Vehicle Group Inc. has announced a realignment of its management team to support its long-term strategic initiatives. The company cited changes in its operating environment and the global commercial vehicle industry as the primary reasons for the changes.
 
"As our geographic footprint expands and we continue our efforts to diversify our end-markets, we must examine our leadership structure to ensure that we make the best use of our resources," said Mervin Dunn, president and CEO of Commercial Vehicle Group.  "In pursuing our long-term strategic objectives and expanding our position as a global leader, the time is right to realign our leadership to achieve the highest benefit for CVG and our shareholders."
 
As part of the realignment, W. Gordon Boyd, president of Seating Systems, will relocate to Asia and assume the role of president of Asian, European & Australian Markets, and be responsible for all interior and seating products within this market and focus on the long-term development of the management team in the Eastern hemisphere.
 
Gerald Armstrong, president and general manager of Cab Systems, will assume the role of president of North & South American Markets, and will be responsible for all interior and seating system facilities in North and South America and oversee development activities in Brazil.
 
Patrick Miller, vice president and general manager of Global Purchasing and Logistics, will assume the role of vice president and general manager of Industrial Markets & Parts, which includes the company’s Piedmont, Ala., facility, and also will assume responsibility for our Structures facilities in Kings Mountain, N.C. and Shadyside, Ohio.  
 
Kevin R.L. Frailey will continue in his current role as president and general manager of Global Electrical Systems.
 
Chad M. Utrup will continue in his current role as CFO with global responsibility for all accounting, finance and human resource activities.

NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) has announced the realignment of its management team to support its strategic initiatives. The company cited changes in its operating environment, the global commercial vehicle industry and general economic conditions as the primary reasons for the changes.

"We must react to the environment around us when it changes as significantly as we have seen over the past six to 12 months," said Mervin Dunn, president and chief executive officer, Commercial Vehicle Group. "With our 2007 acquisitions and our major push toward global products for our customers, the time is right to shift our internal model to achieve the highest benefit for CVG and our shareholders."

Kevin R.L. Frailey, executive vice president of Business Development, will assume the role of executive vice president and general manager for Electrical Systems, which will include both the domestic and international wire harness operations. Frailey’s current responsibilities in business development and research and development will be transitioned to Bob Averitt, vice president of Strategy and Business Integration.

Ken Bush, senior vice president and general manager of Specialty Products, will report directly to Dunn and will focus solely on the company’s aftermarket and specialty products.

Milton Kniss, vice president of Operations, will assume the role of executive vice president and general manager of Seating Systems, which will include both the domestic and international seating operations, and will report to Dunn.

W. Gordon Boyd, president of Global Construction, will lead the transition of the European seating operations to Kniss and the wire harness operations to Frailey over the next several months. When the transition is complete, Boyd will remain an active member of the executive management team as a senior advisor to the CEO, while also focusing on the development and growth of the company’s operations in China, Australia, India, Brazil and South Africa.

Gerald Armstrong, president of Global Truck, will assume the role of president and general manager of Cab Systems, which will include the structural and trim product operations. Armstrong will also lead the transition of the domestic seating operations to Kniss and the specialty products business to Bush over the next several months.

The company also announced that Chad Utrup, chief financial officer, will assume the additional responsibility for corporate human resources from James Williams, the company’s vice president of Organizational Development. In addition, Patrick Miller, senior vice president and general manager of Global Purchasing and Logistics, will oversee the company’s global procurement and logistics and will report directly to Dunn.
