RICHFIELD, Ohio — OEConnection LLC marked its 10th anniversary on Dec. 4. A joint venture between Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp. and Snap-on Business Solutions, OEConnection provides online solutions for the multi-billion dollar original equipment (OE) replacement parts market.
OEConnection is currently recognized as the leading Online Parts and Service Exchange (OPSX) for the automotive industry, according to the company. It serves more than 20,000 dealerships and repairers performing 60 million OE parts searches a year and creates close to $12 billion in annual OE replacement parts trade, the company says. OEConnection’s 200 associates support 12 technology solutions used by customers throughout North America.
Within 23 months of formation, OEConnection achieved profitability and says it has experienced consistent growth in revenues and profits ever since. Based in Richfield, Ohio, the company was named to the Weatherhead 100 list of Northeast Ohio’s fastest growing companies in 2007, 2009 and 2010. In addition, OEConnection is a seven-time winner of the coveted NorthCoast 99 Award, which recognizes leading workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio, and a four-time winner of the Best Employers in Ohio Award, a statewide competition honoring excellence in the workplace.
"A ripe market, proven technology and clear corporate vision are among the reasons that this e-commerce company has survived and thrived," said OEConnection President and CEO Charles Rotuno. "Since the beginning, we have followed the same guiding principles: increase dealer efficiency, improve customer satisfaction and help dealers sell more OE parts. As our relationships with dealers, repairers and OEMs have grown, along with our expertise in the automotive and vehicle manufacturing industries, we have continued to introduce new solutions to achieve these goals."
According to Rotuno, OEConnection has come a long way in 10 years.
"We have consistently received awards and recognition for superior technology, quality leadership and excellence in customer care and workplace practices," he said. "But our greatest achievement is the fact that thousands of loyal customers now rely on our technology solutions as part of their daily operations."
Currently, the company is releasing its next-generation technology a data-rich, integrated parts and service portal that puts real-time information and all OEConnection solutions at customers’ fingertips. In 2011 and beyond, OEConnection says it has plans to expand beyond North America and pursue new opportunities with automakers and vehicle manufacturers in select international markets.
