Mayhew Steel Products (Mayhew Tools) has announced a new, exclusive sponsorship backing owner Scott Pierce’s record-winning boat in the Grand Prix World Series’ North American Championship Race. The sponsored Mayhew Tools boat, driven by Jamie Nilsen, is the world-record holder for the Mile and Quarter Course and is currently the Eastern Division champ. The boat, 25 feet in length, 3,000 lbs. and all carbon fiber construction, accelerates up to 180 mph. The GPW Championship Race will take place on the Ohio River in Madison, Indiana, on July 6-8.
Mayhew Tools is no stranger to racing sponsorships. Currently the premium hand tool manufacturer serves as the exclusive sponsor of the No. car for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driven by five-time tour champion Doug Coby. The company also is a primary sponsor to Bobby Santos’ No. 22A car in the King of the Wing National Sprint Car Series, USAC Silver Crown Series, Must See Sprint Car Series and the Little 500 Series. In addition, the company serves as an associate sponsor to Woody Pitkat’s Modified Racing Series, Tri-Track Series and The Modified Touring Series, as well as a supporter to Bobby Pierce’s No. 63 truck in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
The partnership forged with Scott Pierce for the GPW Championship sets a first for Mayhew Tools’ sponsorship of a boat. To date, Mayhew Tools says its sponsorship endeavors have served as a win-win strategy for not only getting its tools into the hands of professionals and capitalizing on increased brand awareness, but also building successful racing partnerships.
“We are excited to have partnered with Scott and his team as this sponsorship, similar to our tools, is demonstrative of quality and craftsmanship, not to mention we both possess a passion for doing what we love,” said John Lawless, president, Mayhew Tools. “Our team is looking forward to cheering on Jamie in the championship this weekend!”
“We are very thankful for the opportunity to team up with Mayhew Tools, whom has a solid reputation as a quality partner,” said Scott Pierce, owner, Mayhew Tools Boat. “Their support both financially and from a tool perspective plays a fundamental role in helping fuel our racing endeavors.”
Mayhew Tools are sold through an extensive network of global distributors, primarily serving the industrial, automotive and hardware markets.
