AutohausAZ Moves Into Expanded Facility

Rapid growth over the past three years catapults auto parts supplier into expansion mode.

TEMPE, Ariz. – AutohausAZ recently expanded its facility, with a move to a 51,000-square-foot facility in Tempe, Ariz. The company said this move was essential to accommodate the continued growth of AutohausAZ, which fulfills all customer service and support in-house, including ordering, returns, inventorying, catalog development/maintenance and product support.

AutohausAZ began in 1979 as a local European parts retailer in Phoenix, Ariz., and is now an international e-retailer with one of the largest parts warehouses on the Internet. The company distributes high-quality original equipment parts for European and Asian cars to customers in more than 115 countries and retains all customer support and warehouse operations in-house.

"We have been pleasantly surprised to experience unprecedented growth over the past several years, which created the need for more space for our warehouse and customer support operations, the real heart of our business," said Ken Stromberg, chief knowledge officer for AutohausAZ. "With an additional 50,000 square feet available next door, we’re confident we are positioned well for our anticipated growth."

"While other companies have outsourced, we’ve chosen to invest in the American economy and workforce and continue to provide the excellent level of customer service we’ve built our reputation on," said Carolyn Lefebvre, president/CEO of AutohausAZ. "We’re confident that our current space will allow us to continue to be the people’s choice for original equipment parts for European and Asian cars."

AutohausAZ was one of the first European parts warehouses to launch a website in 1998, the same year Google.com was created and a full seven years before YouTube.com was launched. The investment paid off. From Internet sales of $1,000 in 1998 to projected 2012 sales of $17 million, AutohausAZ.com has flourished.

As a result, the company has earned several awards for growth, including the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies in America (2007-11), DiversityBusiness Top 500 Women, Diversity, Privately-Owned Businesses in America (2007-2011), Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) award and the Sloan award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility (2008, 2011).
