Website Launched for New Green Truck Association

New association for commercial truck industry to focus on green products and technologies; association board of directors announced.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — The Green Truck Association (GTA) has announced the official launch of www.greentruckassociation.com. This website functions as the central clearinghouse for the development and deployment of green trucks.

An affiliate division of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), the Green Truck Association (GTA) was established in the Spring of 2010 in recognition of the growing interest and demand for green products within the work truck industry. The GTA helps fleets, manufacturers, upfitters, government agencies and other industry stakeholders stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory and industry developments, while also helping to expand and improve the market for green truck applications.

According to Doyle Sumrall, GTA’s managing director, “We are pleased to offer vital resources and tools to highlight the latest developments, information and research in this evolving and growing industry. The GTA is fully committed to moving the green truck industry forward and to supporting the companies who share this same vision.”

On the GTA website, information about green products and technologies relating to the commercial truck industry is updated daily. Also listed on the site is the newly appointed board of directors, which governs the association’s affairs, and is responsible for setting policy and developing strategy for the organization.

The following industry executives have taken a leadership role by serving on the inaugural Board:

·    David Bryant, vocational sales manager, Hybrids, Freightliner Trucks (Fort Mill, S.C.)
·    Bill Burns, fleet operations manager, City of Columbus, Ohio (Columbus, Ohio)
·    Joseph Dalum, president of Odyne Systems LLC, Executive Vice President of DUECO, Inc. (Waukesha, Wis.)
·    Dimitri Kazarinoff, vice president and general manager, Hybrid Power Systems Division, Eaton Corp. (Galesburg, Mich.)
·    Todd Mouw, vice president of sales and marketing, ROUSH Performance (Livonia, Mich.)

The GTA website is the association’s central channel of communication with its members, with designated members-only areas providing more in-depth levels of knowledge and insights. A broad-range of whitepapers, technical information, new product updates and industry-related articles are available exclusively to members. GTA members also stay informed of the most current developments with the bi-weekly e-newsletter, the GTA Insider.

Membership in the GTA is open to any interested business or organization. Applications can be downloaded here.
