BRUSSELS, Belgium & LOUISVILLE, Ky. WABCO Holdings announced that its Reman Solutions subsidiary has entered into an agreement with a globally operating automaker headquartered in the United States to remanufacture air conditioning compressors. The announcement was made at the 2012 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), held earlier this month in Louisville, Ky.
The company also announced that WABCO Reman Solutions has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001:2004 for successfully developing standardized quality and environmental management systems at its remanufacturing facilities in Rochester Hills, Mich., and Stanowice, Poland.
“Winning this new major agreement solidly anchors WABCO Reman Solutions with a globally operating original equipment manufacturer headquartered in the U.S. as we expand our reman business in the commercial truck, automotive and agricultural vehicle markets,” said Nikhil Varty, WABCO vice president, Americas. “Our key ISO certifications also assure current and prospective customers that we remanufacture according to the highest-quality requirements and comply with the strictest environmental standards.”
The air conditioning compressors are remanufactured at the WABCO Reman Solutions facility in Rochester Hills.
Formed by WABCO in 2010, WABCO Reman Solutions specializes in remanufacturing electronic and mechatronic components, as well as traditional mechanical products that are made by WABCO and other manufacturers. WABCO’s remanufactured products serve original equipment manufacturers as well as tier-one and tier-two suppliers in North America and Europe.
