Voting Now Open in Activant ‘Auto Parts Story’ Contest

Parts professionals encouraged to select funniest, most memorable parts-selling story now featured on YouTube.

LIVERMORE, Calif. — Automotive parts professionals are encouraged to vote for their favorite true auto parts-selling story through the final round of the Activant "Auto Parts Story" Contest featured on YouTube.com.

Now through July 20, 2010, aftermarket professionals can vote for one of three story finalists – titled "Can of Beep," "Smoking Noise" and "Heated Hose" – selected from scores of entries received from distributor and jobber employees across North America. The top three stories were then developed into short animated video comedy spots with the help of professional comedian "Stephen B" and posted on YouTube for the final round of competition. The ultimate winner, as determined by YouTube users, will receive a free Apple iPad pre-loaded with the popular "Real Racing HD" video game.

To view the three finalists and record your vote for the funniest and most memorable story, search for "Auto Parts Story Contest" on YouTube.com or go to Activant’s YouTube page

Voters can also access the videos and voting page through Activant’s website.

Voting ends July 20 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.

"We created this contest to help highlight the incredible range of challenges encountered on the job by most automotive parts professionals," said Paul Salsgiver, executive vice president, Activant Solutions. "Activant is pleased to support professional counter people and parts professionals across North America through truly world-class electronic catalog solutions, including the revolutionary new LaserCat 3 eCatalog interface."
