Version 2.0 of Snap-on’s ShopKey5.com Now Available

ShopKey5.com is the end-result of repair information that has been collected over the past eight decades.

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. – The latest edition of Snap-on’s ShopKey5.com, version 2.0 is now available.

ShopKey5.com is the end-result of repair information that has been collected over the past eight decades, including diagnostics, repair information, TSBs, recalls, maintenance requirements, parts prices, labor times, vintage information and fluid types and volumes based on original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) validated service information. The information is then combined to create wiring diagrams, user tips and shortcuts.

One new addition to ShopKey5.com is the Google search feature. The ShopKey5.com Google search goes beyond article titles and headlines to find answers within the body of the document, including technical service bulletins (TSBs) and user tips.

ShopKey Live is another new feature that integrates ShopKey’s classic OEM information in context with real world information. ShopKey Live allows technicians to share and benefit from their collective experience, which can help increase productivity and prevent costly mistakes that lead to lost time and money, according to Snap-on.

Introduced to the automotive industry by ShopKey, CircuitSelect Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is the only system that includes full-color diagrams for every vehicle back to 1985. With SVG technology, the wiring diagrams retain their clarity when zooming and allow users to search for information easier by finding and highlighting the text of the repair articles based on specific keywords within the diagrams.

Labor times, parts information, maintenance schedules and more than 2,000 repair articles are uploaded to the ShopKey5.com server every month, in addition to 100,000 new pages of OE repair content, which is taken directly from the OE repair manuals.

ShopKey5.com coverage includes AC/heating, accessories, air bags, alignment, brakes, clutches, cooling, diagnostics, drive axles, electrical, emissions, fluid specs, maintenance, recalls, steering, suspension, transmission and TSBs.

“Our ShopKey5.com database is updated monthly, making it the most current and complete repair information database available in the industry,” said Bill Bruno, vice president of sales and marketing. “Getting the service information you need fast and accurately makes a huge difference in how profitable a job will be. With ShopKey5.com, you’ll experience improved productivity and customer satisfaction, as well as overall shop performance.”
