ALBANY, NY — Thomson Delmar Learning, an educational resources provider and part of The Thomson Corp., has released its new line of Chilton Total Car Care CDs — a line of Do-It-Yourself car care information provided in CD-format. This new release now covers more car models and years, according to the company.
According to David Koontz, publisher for the Professional Business Unit of Thomson Delmar Learning, during the past year the company redesigned the Chilton professional products to better reflect industry needs and now they are improving the DIY products with better graphics and more precise content. “And we will continue to invest in Chilton product enhancements to satisfy our customers,” Koontz added.
The CD format can be viewed electronically or printed, and lays out detailed step-by-step service and repair procedures covering all of the major vehicle systems, including: general information and maintenance, engine performance and tune-up, engine mechanical and overhaul, emission controls, fuel system, chassis electrical, drive train, suspension and steering, brakes, and body and trim. The CD employs Adobe Acrobat technology, allowing scalable views of illustrations and tables. The Total Car Care CDs come equipped with close-up photographs, illustrations, vacuum and wiring diagrams, troubleshooting and diagnostics, maintenance and specification tables. An access code is included with each CD to provide users access to information on their desired vehicle.
