Tenneco Announces New Limited Lifetime Warranty on Every Monroe Quick-Strut Assembly

Tenneco says the addition of a limited lifetime warranty to the Monroe Quick-Strut product line helps highlight the dramatic quality differences encountered in today's strut assembly category.

LAS VEGAS – Tenneco has announced that every Monroe Quick-Strut assembly will be covered by a new limited lifetime warranty, highlighting the premium quality and added confidence that come with the Monroe name.

Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies feature all premium-quality replacement components. These pre-assembled, bolt-on units enable technicians to reduce by up to 50 percent the time required for a quality job on many applications. And, according to Tenneco, this innovative solution has proved so popular that the company has increased Monroe Quick-Strut production capacity by more than 500 percent since 2003.

“A growing share of the strut replacement category is moving toward the Monroe Quick-Strut approach because shops recognize they can not only save time, but also help ensure they won’t face a quality-related comeback down the road,” said Bill Dennie, director, ride control channel management, North American aftermarket, Tenneco. “But these advantages can be lost by choosing a lower quality unit from an unproven offshore source.”

Tenneco says the addition of a limited lifetime warranty to the Monroe Quick-Strut product line helps highlight the dramatic quality differences encountered in today’s strut assembly category. As a leading global original equipment manufacturer, Tenneco precisely tunes each Monroe Quick-Strut assembly to address the unique ride and handling characteristics of the corresponding vehicle application. In addition, each Monroe unit is equipped with a premium-quality strut, OE-quality spring and a bearing plate designed and manufactured to meet the company’s stringent performance and durability requirements. In some cases, Tenneco includes the same bearings as the OE units to ensure superior performance.

To meet the growing demand for the Monroe Quick-Strut solution, Tenneco said it will once again introduce dozens of new applications in the coming year. The company in 2008 expanded the Monroe Quick-Strut line to cover a wide range of popular light-truck and SUV models; new part numbers in 2009 will address an array of additional passenger applications entering their prime aftermarket replacement cycle.

Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies for passenger cars are equipped with a premium Sensa-Trac strut tuned to each application’s unique requirements to deliver superior ride and handling characteristics.  For light trucks and SUVs, Tenneco offers Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies equipped with a premium Monroe Reflex strut tuned to provide the increased control needed for vehicles featuring a higher center of gravity. Units for the rear positions on light trucks and SUVs also include a precisely calibrated variable-rate coil spring for increased load-carrying capacity.
