TABOR CITY, N.C. Sensen North America has opened a new 1-million-square-foot shock and strut manufacturing, R&D and distribution facility in Zhejiang, China. The new factory became fully operational in January, following a certification and dedication ceremony in December 2012.
Integrated robotics and proprietary manufacturing systems position the new facility as one of the most advanced in China, according to Sensen. Additional acreage also has been set aside to allow for future expansions, which are slated for 2014. Sensen currently has more than 600 employees, including 50 quality control specialists and 30 product development and testing engineers.
"With expanding OEM contracts for domestic China and our commitment to an even more aggressive product development and growth plan for the North American aftermarket, the expansion of our production capabilities was absolutely necessary," said John Treece, president and CEO of DMA Goodpoint and Sensen North America. "As our North America sales continue to double year-over-year, streamlining the product flow process from the factory to our U.S. distribution center becomes mission critical to our ability to continue providing our customers with exceptional order fill rates. This new facility provides us the space to stage finished product in China in anticipation of our forward demand requirements."
In September 2012, DMA Goodpoint opened a new157,000-square-foot headquarters and distribution facility in the U.S. to support the Sensen North America program.
DMA Goodpoint (Direct Market Access Inc.) is the exclusive North American factory partner of Sensen Shocks and Struts, providing all operational support services including sales and distribution, marketing and product development.
