Tammy Tecklenburg, founder and CEO of dott., was honored with the 2023 MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Individual Award during the AAPEX show in Las Vegas this year. Tecklenburg was recognized for her significant contributions to promoting DEI in the automotive industry.
“We’re proud to recognize Tammy Tecklenburg for her dedication to the automotive industry over the past three decades,” said Ben Brucato, vice president of engagement at MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. “Her work, from Fortune 500 boardrooms to grassroots initiatives and the founding of dott., showcases her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Her contributions have been transformative for our industry.”
Tecklenburg’s 29-year career has been marked by her consistent efforts to champion education, diversity, equity and inclusion, especially for women and minorities in the aftermarket sector. Under her leadership, female representation in the industry has risen from 2% to approximately 20%, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers said. She was instrumental in creating the community “Women in Auto Care” and starting the industry’s first mentor program. These initiatives have significantly impacted both individuals and the broader industry.
Upon receiving the award, Tecklenburg reflected on her mission and its broader impact.
“I’m honored to receive this award from MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. My focus has always been on promoting inclusivity and diversity in our industry,” she said. “This recognition is a testament to collective efforts towards this goal.”
The award presentation also recognized Dana Inc., which received the MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers DEI Leadership Award (Company), and Marc Blackman, CEO of Gold Eagle, who was named the 2023 MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Advocacy Champion.
