Blackman Receives MEMA Aftermarket Advocacy Award

Marc Blackman, CEO of Gold Eagle, has been a champion for key aftermarket priorities, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers said.

Marc Blackman, CEO of Gold Eagle, received the 2023 MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Member Advocacy Award on November 1 at the AAPEX show in Las Vegas.

“Marc’s passionate advocacy and commitment to our industry can be felt by everyone in the aftermarket,” said Ann Wilson, senior vice president of government affairs, MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association. “His leadership and forward-thinking approach not only uplift his own organization but benefit the entire aftermarket community.”

Blackman’s dedication to the aftermarket is seen in his broad support of advocacy efforts, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers said. He’s been a stalwart for repair choice and market competition. His support in key aftermarket priorities, especially in championing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness, showcases his deep commitment to the industry. In addition, Blackman has been pivotal in supporting challenges against overbearing regulations, notably those chemical regulations that resonate across various member segments: automotive, commercial vehicle and remanufacturing, MEMA said.

“I am honored to receive this award,” Blackman said. “Serving the aftermarket community is a privilege and engagement in the public policy process is essential for our industry’s success. I believe in the strength and purpose of the aftermarket and hope that our collective advocacy efforts ensure the bright future we all want to see.”

Wilson and Paul McCarthy, CEO, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers, presented Blackman with the 2023 MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Advocacy Champion award on stage.

Also honored during the award presentation were Tammy Tecklenburg, founder and CEO, dott., who was awarded the MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers DEI Leadership Award (individual) and Dana Inc., which received the 2023 MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers DEI Leadership Award (company).
