BigR ReMaTecUSA - LogoFrom Oct. 31 through Nov. 2, Las Vegas was host to North America’s largest remanufacturing show. With a grand total of 1,400 attendees from 60 countries across the world, show organizers report that the second edition of Big R/ReMaTecUSA has been a resounding success.

With a strong focus on education and business development, the show attracted a highly dedicated audience of remanufacturing specialists. With companies like BorgWarner, Daewoo, Deutz, Ford, General Motors, Hitachi, John Deere, Mitsubishi, MTU and Volvo Trucks, an increasing number of OEMs visited the event.

More than a third of visitors attended multiple days, resulting in more time spent at the show and a high volume of traffic on the exhibit floor. “We’re very proud to see attendance growing, and especially the increase in OEMs visiting the show is to us a clear indication that the industry is doing well and we are reaching the breadth of companies involved in remanufacturing,” said Niels Klarenbeek, manager of ReMaTec.

With nearly 40 percent international visitors, the scope of the event also is growing. The 85 exhibiting companies especially noted a rise in visitors from Central and South America, now making up around 10 percent of the total visitor numbers.

The show attracted nearly 30 percent new exhibitors, offering attendees an even greater variety of reman products and industry segments. “All of the first-time exhibitors were surprised at how well the show was attended and the remanufacturing focused audience,” said Joe Kripli, APRA president.

Alongside a show floor, the show offered visitors a comprehensive and inspiring seminar program, themed “Better Your Business,” which was well-attended by exhibitors and visitors alike. Popular sessions included Rochester Institute of Technology’s Mike Haselkorn presenting on 3-D printing techniques and industry veteran Mike Rayne from FTI Consulting’s keynote address on the remanufacturing industry as a whole and the direction it is taking.

Preparations for the 2016 edition of the show are already in full swing. No less than 50 percent of exhibitors have committed to participating in 2016, when the show will take place in the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. “We are looking forward to being back on The Strip next year,” said Kripli. “Next edition marks the 75th anniversary of the APRA and there will be surprises throughout the event that you won’t want to miss.”

Big R/ReMaTecUSA will take place on Oct. 29-30, 2016, in the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
