ITW Acquires Permatex

ITW Performance Polymers, part of Illinois Tool Works, has acquired Permatex, Inc., a well-known producer of sealants, adhesives, and other products for the worldwide automotive aftermarket and the industrial maintenance and repair market. The company made this purchase at the same it was in the process of acquiring Wynn Oil from Parker Hannafin, as announced on Jan. 4.

AOCA to Hold Annual Convention and Fast Lube Expo in April

The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) will hold its annual convention and fast lube expo — AOCA & All That Jazz — from April 23-26, 2005, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. “Finishing touches are being put on what could be the greatest AOCA convention ever,” said Sue Ackley, president of AOCA. “We’ve added new topics, new speakers, more vendors and more to do on the exhibit floor. New educational offerings include sessions on working with the media and on knowing when to expand or sell your business. A special ‘Day in the Life of a Quick Lube’ video presentation is being compiled to share industry best practices in the realm of customer service.”

ArvinMeritor Light Vehicle Aftermarket Signs Distribution Arrangement with Jiffy Lube International

ArvinMeritor’s Light Vehicle Aftermarket (LVA) business group, a manufacturer of automotive aftermarket products, has signed a contract to distribute LVA products for 419 Jiffy Lube company-owned service centers. The three-year contract will take effect on Nov. 1. Jiffy Lube International’s parent company, Shell Oil Products US (SOPUS), selected ArvinMeritor LVA as a distribution partner after deciding to close Heritage, a Shell-owned distribution company.
