AOCA to Hold Annual Convention and Fast Lube Expo in April

The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) will hold its annual convention and fast lube expo -- AOCA & All That Jazz -- from April 23-26, 2005, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. “Finishing touches are being put on what could be the greatest AOCA convention ever,” said Sue Ackley, president of AOCA. “We’ve added new topics, new speakers, more vendors and more to do on the exhibit floor. New educational offerings include sessions on working with the media and on knowing when to expand or sell your business. A special ‘Day in the Life of a Quick Lube’ video presentation is being compiled to share industry best practices in the realm of customer service.”

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) will hold its annual convention and fast lube expo — AOCA & All That Jazz — from April 23-26, 2005, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

The sixth annual AOCA Boot Camp will be held on Saturday, April 23. This full day program is designed to help new lube owners improve their operations and their bottom line.

Seminars include Getting and Keeping Customers; Add-On Services: Tire Rotation, Power Steering and A/C Service; Dude, Where’s My Car?; Warranty Claims – Self Defense and Customer Satisfaction; Working With the Media; and To Go of Grow.

Lt. Colonel Oliver North, a combat-decorated Marine and counter-terrorism official during the Reagan administration, will be the featured keynote speaker on Monday, April 25. He will address attendees about “America in the New Millennium” and will share his strategies for ensuring America remains a formidable world power for years to come.

On the exhibit floor, AOCA will host a new “demo theater” during which featured exhibitors will share their insights and techniques on cabin air filter service, water and deposit removal, training, car wash management, on-board diagnostics and the effects of thermal expansion on lube equipment.

In addition, convention registrants and exhibit personnel are invited to the welcome reception on Saturday, April 23 and the AOCA’s Grand Party at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas on Monday, April 25. AOCA Convention
