The Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) has announced that solution providers ProcessClaims and ADP Claims Services Group are the first companies to become certified under this new program.

Sherbin Will Head Delphi’s Legal Effort

Delphi Corp., preparing for a possible Chapter 11 filing, hired a former executive with bankrupt supplier Federal-Mogul Corp. as its chief attorney Monday. The 46-year-old David Sherbin, who joins the automotive parts supplier from Pulte Homes Inc., worked with Delphi Chief Executive Steve Miller at Federal-Mogul, which declared bankruptcy in 2001 as asbestos lawsuits against the company mounted.

Hastings Manufacturing Files for Bankruptcy Protection, Announces Sale of the Company

After 90 years in the automotive business, Hastings Manufacturing Co. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and accepted an offer to sell the assets of the company to The Anderson Group, Inc. The Hastings, MI-based automotive supplier said it filed the Chapter 11 petition on Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan. Hastings Manufacturing has received an offer from The Anderson Group, Inc., a Bloomfield Hills, MI-based holding company that owns and operates various manufacturing companies, to purchase the company’s assets.

Winsby Group Releases Free Software to View AAIA Vehicle Configuration Database

Winsby Group, LLC announced the release of a free Windows-based software tool to view the AAIA Vehicle Configuration Database (VCdb). The software is available for individual download from the company’s Web site at winsbygroup.com for all AAIA Catalog Enhanced Standard (ACES) subscribers.

icarz’s PartsWatch Passes 600 Store Mark

Aftermarket software provider icarz, inc. announced that more than 600 stores are now live on its PartsWatch store management system.

Delphi Reports Second Quarter Results

Delphi Corp. reported Q2 2005 revenues of $7.0 billion, $500 million less than Q2 2004, and a GAAP net loss of $338 million or a loss of 60 cents per share, compared to Q2 2004 GAAP net income of $143 million or earnings of 25 cents per share. Non-GM revenues were $3.6 billion, representing 51 percent of total revenues.

The Timken Company Elects Ward J. ‘Tim’ Timken, Jr. as Chairman

The Timken Company announced its board of directors has named Ward J. “Tim” Timken, Jr. chairman, effective August 15. The appointment follows the July 29 United States Senate confirmation of W.R. Timken, Jr. as U.S. Ambassador to Germany and his subsequent resignation as chairman and member of the Timken board, effective August 14.
