Motorola Executive Vice President and CFO David Devonshire has been elected to the ArvinMeritor Board of Directors. His seat on the board becomes effective on July 22. Before joining Motorola in 2002, Devonshire was executive vice president and CFO for Ingersoll-Rand.

Timken Shareholders Elect New Director

Jerry Jasinowski, president of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), was elected for a three-year term on the Timken board of directors, expiring in 2007. Jasinowki was elected during Timken’s annual shareholders meeting held yesterday. James Griffith, John Luke, Jr., Frank Sullivan and Ward Timken have also been re-elected for three-year terms expiring in 2007.

Edebrock Corp., the California-based maker of performance replacement parts, is considering going private. Vic Edelbrock, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Edelbrock Corp., has proposed to acquire all outstanding shares of Edelbrock common stock, not already owned by Edelbrock or his affiliates. Edelbrock and his affiliates currently own approximately 51.2 percent of the company’s stock.

First introduced in 1974, Mobil 1 has become the world’s number one-selling synthetic motor oil, according to the company. ExxonMobil kicked off a celebration for the brand on April 13 in Beaumont, Texas, where Mobil 1 is manufactured and distributed for all of North and South America.

MEMA Names New Executive Director of Association Management Division

Brent Hazelett has been promoted to executive director of Management Services Group (MSG), the association management division of MEMA. He has served as the executive director of the Filter Manufacturers Council (FMC) since May 1998, and will continue to serve in that capacity as well.

Vernon, Ohio, was named the top aftermarket sales manager, while Transpro of Lee’s Summit, Mo., was named top manufacturer’s representative.
