RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — Brent Hazelett has been promoted to executive director of Management Services Group (MSG), the association management division of MEMA. He has served as the executive director of the Filter Manufacturers Council (FMC) since May 1998, and will continue to serve in that capacity as well.
In his new position, Hazelett will be responsible for providing staff leadership and serving as client liaison for all MEMA product line councils and independent associations managed through MSG. His duties also will include identifying and recruiting other associations that could benefit from MSG services.
“Under Brent’s leadership, the FMC has experienced significant growth in membership and undergone a successful reorganization in the face of changing economic and business climates,” said Chris Bates, president and CEO of MEMA. “In his expanded role, he will spearhead MEMA’s efforts to provide similar superior management services to all of its affiliated product line groups and to those independent associations which MSG administers.”
Affiliated MEMA councils managed by MSG include: FMC, the Automotive Specialty Products Association (ASPA), the Brake Manufacturers Council (BMC), the Heavy Duty Brake Manufacturers Council (HDBMC), the Motor Vehicle Lighting Council (MVLC) and the Transportation and Safety Equipment Institute (TSEI). Independent associations currently administered by MSG include the Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS), the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA).
