American Tire Distributors to Offer Continental Tires
Continental Tire North America (CTNA) and American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) announced July 29 that ATD will begin selling Continental and General brand tires through its national network of distribution centers beginning in August 2004.
GreenMan Technologies Acquires American Tire Disposal
GreenMan Technologies has acquired all tire collection operations of American Tire Disposal (ATD), Inc., a southern California-based company that collects and markets scrap tires. GreenMan will consolidate ATD’s business into its existing California operations. Founded in 1992, GreenMan Technologies is made up of a group of eight affiliated companies that collect, process and market more than 30 million scrap tires annually in whole, shredded or granule form.
American Tire Distributors Hosts National TireStarz Dealer Conference
American Tire Distributors (ATD) hosted its first national TireStarz Dealer Conference March 4 – 7. Ninety-nine dealers and their guests attended the four-day session at the Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tenn. The meeting featured a series of seminars and workshops designed to give ATD dealers timely information on important market trends and strategies for building their business. Mark Emkes, outgoing chairman, CEO and president of Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, addressed the group, as did William “Bill” Berry, American Tire Distributors’ president and COO.
