The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported on April 12 that Hankook Tire Co. is eyeing sites in the metro Atlanta area as potential homes for its planned U.S. tire plant.
 
Locations in South Carolina and Alabama also are under consideration, the report said. Sources close to the project, though, told the Business Chronicle that Hankook officials would be in Atlanta scouting locations.
 
Officials of South Korea-based Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. will soon begin scouting sites across metro Atlanta for the company’s first U.S. manufacturing plant, according to sources familiar with the project.
 
A location decision and announcement, they told the newspaper, would likely come by the end of 2013.
