After 78 years and three generations managing the business, former Pronto member MacKenzie Warehouse, based in San Francisco, has closed. The business ceased operations on Aug. 23.
Michelle MacKenzie-Menendez said the business environment in San Francisco was no longer conducive to operating an automotive aftermarket distribution business.
“In fact, we were the last warehouse left with the boundaries of the City and County of San Francisco,” said MacKenzie-Menendez. “There remains five O’Reilly stores, which have a long history in San Francisco, one very small independent NAPA store and one AutoZone that opened five years ago. … End of an era in San Francisco.”
