Effective March 1, Philippe Baudin has been appointed general manager/chief operating officer of the international trading group Amerigo International.
He will concurrently hold the position of adviser to Sylvain Abergel, chairman and chief executive officer of Amerigo Group, for relations with aftermarket leading suppliers.
At Amerigo International, Baudin will fulfil his new responsibilities in coordination with Damien Jeanney, deputy manager, and Mathias Angles, procurement manager of the trading group.
In parallel, Baudin will remain chairman of the Equip Auto trade show for the automotive aftermarket.
“I am delighted to welcome Philippe Baudin, a distinguished professional, into our ecosystem,” Abergel said. “His considerable expertise in the independent aftermarket will be highly valuable in driving the constant development of Amerigo Group’s business.”
Baudin, 59, has devoted his entire career to the independent automotive aftermarket.
Among his positions, he was sales manager and then general manager of the French Aftermarket division of DRiV, before becoming executive manager and then vice president Automotive Aftermarket France & Benelux for Schaeffler.
He also headed GOLDA (Groupement pour l’Optimisation des Liaisons dans la Distribution Automobile) for eight years and, from 2015 to 2023, was leader of the Aftermarket Commission at FIEV (French Federation of Vehicle Equipment Industries).
Baudin has been the chairman of the trade show EQUIP AUTO since 2019.
“I am proud to join the latest founded ITG,” Baudin said. “The international adventure that awaits me at Amerigo International promises to be very exciting, particularly at a time when the major challenges in the aftermarket extend far beyond national borders and merge into the overall dynamic of global markets.”
