Permatex Renews Corporate Sponsorship of Jay Blake and Follow A Dream Racing Team

The Follow A Dream Race team is scheduled to compete in a 10-race schedule, which includes five national and five regional events.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Permatex is continuing its long-running support of the Follow A Dream Race Team. Permatex is providing a corporate sponsorship for the team as it competes in the 2009 NHRA Championship Top Alcohol Funny Car Series. Permatex has partnered with Jay Blake and his Follow A Dream Race Team since 2004.

This year, Follow A Dream will again challenge the NHRA series with its Permatex/Wynn’s/Texas Roadhouse 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS Top Alcohol Funny Car and driver, Marty Nothstein, a former Olympic gold medal cyclist and record-holder. This combination proved to be very rewarding for the Follow A Dream Race Team in 2008, which finished third in its division and ranked in the top 15 percent of all the teams in the series.

The Follow A Dream Race team is scheduled to compete in a 10-race schedule, which includes five national and five regional events. The program kicks off at Gainesville Raceway (Gainesville, Fla.) on March 13.

Jay Blake, founder, owner and crew chief of Follow A Dream Racing, notes, “We had a good year in ‘08, finishing third in our division and 17th overall in the country out of 109 drivers. I think we’ve found the right combination and are excited about the new season and the prospects of success that Marty and our Permatex/Wynn’s/Texas Roadhouse car can continue to bring to the team. I am also very excited about the return of our legendary tuner, Tom Howell; now back from Afghanistan and gearing up to give us some serious ET.

“Our relationship with Permatex continues to be a great opportunity for both organizations. We are extremely proud to be working with a company that is so highly respected in the industry, and we continue to rely on their outstanding products to keep our car competitive.”
