Titan, Michelin Upping Prices
Titan International and Michelin North America have joined the growing list of tiremakers instituting mid-year price increases. Titan said it will hike prices on its Titan, Goodyear and General brand OTR and agricultural tires from 4 percent to 35 percent , effective June 1.

This year’s Top Shop winner is Gatto’s Tires & Auto Service, headquartered in Melbourne, FL. The seven-location dealership, owned by Pamela Gatto, has been in business for 35 years.
Michelin to Close Akron, OH, Tire Plant
One of the last vestiges of the BFGoodrich name in the Akron, OH, area is going away with yesterday’s announcement that Michelin North America (MNA) will close its specialty competition tire production facility in Mogadore, OH. MNA said it will move production of rock crawling and race tires to its Tuscaloosa, AL, plant.
Ken-Tool Names Rockford Tyson as Director of Marketing and Sales
Ken-Tool, automotive specialty hand tools manufacturer, has appointed Rockford Tyson as its new director of marketing and sales. Tyson joins Ken Tool from Stride Tool Inc., where he has held various positions since 1997, including director of marketing. Previously, he was consumer marketing manager for the Ridge Tool Co. His experience also includes 17 years of marketing, sales and engineering positions with tire manufacturers such as Michelin, Dunlop and BFGoodrich.
