Selection criteria for the Mitchell 1 Educator of the Year award requires that a master automotive technician excel on all ASE automotive tests, including A1–A8 (Engine Repair, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning and Engine Performance) and the L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Exam).

Mitchell 1 Names Nicholas Conti 2015 Automotive Technology Outstanding Student

Conti recently completed two years at Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, New York, where he earned an associate’s degree in business administration. During that time, he worked part-time at his family’s auto repair shop. He will attend Alfred State, a residential college of technology, in the fall in the automotive service technician program and is on pace to graduate in May 2017.
