Glenn Boone Joins DST in Newly Created Post as VP of Customer Service

Distribution Service Technologies, Inc. (DST) has appointed heavy-duty aftermarket industry veteran Glenn Boone to a newly created senior management position as VP of Customer Service, effective immediately. In his new position, Boone will lead an ongoing revitalization of service and support for the ever growing number of customers deploying DST’s comprehensive solutions, including DSTWare supply chain execution management, parts and price management, inventory control and optimization, warehouse management and two Internet-based parts ordering and sales systems, TurboParts for business-to-business and GetPartsFast.com for business-to-consumer.

MAHLE Clevite Announces Organizational Changes

MAHLE Clevite has announced the appointment of Ken Carter to the position of national sales manager. Carter has served in a variety of leadership sales roles throughout his MAHLE Clevite career. His most recent responsibilities included being the manager of the Heavy Duty and Special Market sales teams, plus all of the MAHLE Clevite Canadian operations. Carter assumes the additional duties of the USA Light Vehicle sales immediately. He will continue to report to General Manager Michael Tate.

Yokohama Tire Corp. Names New President

Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) has announced changes in senior management roles and responsibilities, which will be effective April 1. Norio Karashima, current president and CEO of YTC, will return to Yokohama Rubber Co. (YRC) corporate headquarters in Japan to assume an increase in responsibilities. As managing corporate officer, Karashima will be based in Tokyo, where he will take on global responsibility over YRC’s Off-the-Road Tire and Aircraft Tire Division, Tire Logistics Division, and as general manager of Tire Planning Division. He will also retain his duties in charge of Tire North America Business Department and as president of Yokohama Corporation of America.

Leigh Merino Joins MEMA’S Washington Office

Leigh Merino has joined the Washington office of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) as director, regulatory affairs. Merino’s duties will include working with members of MEMA’s three market segment associations on regulatory issues important to the supplier industry, assisting with the development of regulatory policy and representing the industry before state and federal regulatory bodies. She will also be responsible for oversight of MEMA’s new state monitoring program, which includes both regulatory and legislative issues impacting parts suppliers.

Pep Boys has announced the planned departure of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Harry Yanowitz, who has resigned in order to pursue other business interests. Yanowitz was appointed CFO in 2004. Prior to that he served as senior vice president, Strategy & Business Development, and previously served as CFO of a public company. Yanowitz will continue in his duties until the company’s financial statements for fiscal 2007 are completed and will assist the company in its search for his replacement.
