Malcolm Sissmore to Lead Delphi’s Canadian Aftermarket Division

Last month, Delphi appointed Malcolm Sissmore as general manager, Canadian Aftermarket and Delphi Product & Service Solutions (DPSS) Country Director. Sissmore’s appointment is in line with the DPSS global strategy of geographical expansion and customer growth, according to the company. In this role, Sissmore will be responsible for supporting the DPSS expansion strategy in the country, growing Delphi’s business with Canadian aftermarket customers and coordinating DPSS Canadian activities.

China became India’s third largest supplier of tires in 2007-08, leaping from 39th in fiscal year 2002-03, according to sources. Tires made in India are facing a big challenge from cheaper Chinese tires, mainly because of higher raw materials prices. Yokohama to Adjust Prices on Consumer Tires up to 6 Percent

Due to continued record increases in the costs of raw materials and energy, Yokohama Tire Corp. has announced it will adjust prices on its consumer tires by up to 6 percent, effective July 1. The company said there will be in-line adjustments, as well, which will be announced at a later date. Commercial Light Truck, Medium Truck and off-the-road (OTR) tires will not be affected by the increase.

Continental Buys Stake in Enax, Plans to Expand Own Lithium-Ion Technology

Continental has acquired a 16 percent stake in Japanese lithium-ion specialist Enax. The two companies have agreed upon an exclusive cooperative venture for the development of lithium-ion cells especially for future hybrid and electric drives in automobiles.
