Richard Marabito Elected Director of Hawk Corp.

CLEVELAND — Hawk Corp. has elected Richard Marabito to its the board of directors. Marabito was installed on the board at the company’s annual meeting of shareholders on June 4. Additionally, Marabito was elected to the position of chairman of the Audit Committee by the company’s board of directors.

Hawk is a supplier of friction materials for brakes, clutches and transmissions used in performance automotive vehicles, airplanes, trucks, construction and mining equipment, farm equipment, and recreational vehicles.

Ronald Weinberg, chairman of the board and CEO of Hawk Corp. said, "We are particularly pleased to have Rick Marabito join our board of directors. His background in accounting and his experience as the chief financial officer of a significant public company brings important experience to our board. We know that his involvement and guidance will complement the work of our board as we continue to build a great company."

Marabito, age 45, serves as chief financial officer for Olympic Steel, Inc. a publicly traded steel company which operates steel service centers across the United States . He is a Certified Public Accountant in Ohio and a 1985 graduate of Mount Union College . He currently serves on the Metals Service Center Institute’s Board of Directors and is the chair of its Foundation for Education & Research committee. Marabito also serves on the board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast Ohio.
