Timken Completes Sale of European Precision Components Business
The Timken Co. has completed the sale of its Timken Precision Components – Europe business to a group of investors made up of members of the unit’s current management team. The business serves customers in Europe’s automotive sector and bearing industry and had 2005 sales of $28.8 million. Timken Precision Components – Europe produces precision-machined steel components for automotive transmissions and airbags, along with components for industrial bearings, at two facilities in France.
LKQ First Quarter Net Income Up 44 Percent
LKQ Corp. has announced results for its first quarter, which ended March 31, with revenue of $192.1 million, net income of $12.1 million and diluted earnings per share of 22 cents.
LKQ Acquires Wheel Business
LKQ Corp. announced this week it has acquired Transwheel Corp., an aluminum alloy wheel refurbishing and distribution business. Transwheel markets its products electronically to the insurance and collision repair industries via the three primary estimating systems, Mitchell, ADP and CCC. Through these systems, shops and insurance carriers gain immediate access to Transwheel’s extensive inventory of new and refurbished aluminum, chrome and steel wheels as well as a large selection of refinished wheel covers.
