POMONA, CA Keystone Automotive Industries has announced the addition of a new director of quality assurance to its staff. Steve Barker will join the rest of Keystone’s quality assurance team at the company’s Manufacturing and Quality Assurance headquarters located in Grand Rapids, MI. Reporting to Vice President Carl Hartman, Barker has been charged with the responsibility of enhancing the level of quality, fit and finish, with the goal of providing perfect parts to customers, every time.
Barker comes to Keystone with a great deal of experience from the quality sector. Most recently he served as a quality manager for FailSafe Campus Inc. where he developed and wrote ISO 9001 and all related procedures conforming to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). In addition, he has held positions with Robert Bosch Manufacturing, Diesel Tech & Engineering and Jackson Products helping to build company quality and standards. He holds a business administration degree from Grand Rapids Community College and has the following certificates and training; ISO lead auditor Certificate; Value Analysis Engineering; Calibration; Internal Auditor Training; Management Training courses on Supervision and Human Relation. Steve also has attended various seminars on Applied Statistical Process Control and Advanced S.P.C.
Keystone distributes its products primarily to collision repair shops through 136 distribution facilities, of which 22 serve as regional hubs, located in 38 states and Canada. Its product lines consist of automotive body parts, bumpers and remanufactured alloy wheels, as well as paint and other materials used in repairing a damaged vehicle.
