Executive Interview with Richard Shiozaki, Senior Vice President, DENSO Sales California

Richard Shiozaki directs the aftermarket sales group, aftermarket planning group, commercial and industrial systems group and the corporate service group for DENSO Sales California, Inc., the more than $276 million affiliate of DENSO Corp. Yesterday at AAPEX, Shiozaki gave a press conference to announce a number of new initiatives that DENSO will be focused on this year. Just prior to the show, we had a chance to sit down with Shiozaki and get all the details.

Magna Opens First U.S. Technical Training Center

Global automotive supplier Magna International will officially open a new technical training center in Baltimore today. The Magna Baltimore Technical Training Center (MBTTC), located in Baltimore’s Park Heights district, is the newest addition to Magna’s global training operations and the company’s first-ever training center in the United States.

DENSO Sales California Promotes Fran Labun to Vice President

DENSO Sales California, Inc. has named Fran Labun vice president of Sales. Labun, formerly senior manager of Aftermarket Sales and Commerical and Industrial Groups, assumed new responsibilities of Automotive OES Sales, effective July 1. In his new role as vice president, Labun oversees Automotive OES, Automotive Aftermarket, Heavy Duty OE/OES, Heavy Duty Aftermarket, Heat Management (MovinCool) and Robotics Sales.

Celette S.A. Founder Germain Celette Dies

Celette S.A. has announced the passing of its founder Germain Celette. Celette died at his home, “le Bastion,” on Nov. 30 in Vienne, France. Well respected in the industry, Celette got his start in 1952, after responding to a friends’ need to repair a collision damaged Renault 4 CV, one of the first unibody vehicles.

2005 North American International Auto Show to Promote Automotive Careers with First Annual Automotive Education Day

A new event promoting automotive careers will be added next year to the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), which takes place on Jan. 15-23, 2005, in Detroit. Thousands of students will converge upon the 2005 NAIAS for the first annual Automotive Education Day on Wednesday, Jan. 19 from 9-3 p.m. at the Detroit Cobo Center. The event is designed to provide southeast Michigan and Windsor-area students in grades 7-12 with an exciting and educational automotive career curriculum, presented by knowledgeable industry professionals.
