As part of the company’s strategy to expand its range of friction management products and services, Canton, Ohio-based Timken Co. has acquired the assets of SES Technical Group, a division of SES, LLC. The SES Technical Group, located in Richfield, Ohio, specializes in vibration analysis, infrared thermography, continuous monitoring systems, wear particle analysis and 24-hour emergency service.

Metaldyne Names New VP of Sales and Marketing

Metaldyne has appointed Roseann Stevens as the company’s new vice president of sales and marketing. Stevens replaces Anne Lockwood, who left the position earlier this year, according to published reports. In this position, Stevens will be responsible for leading the sales effort throughout the company. She will report to George Thanopoulos, Engine Group president and the President’s Council.

Street Glow to Sell a Portion of Its Ownership, President Steps Down

Street Glow, Inc., which produces performance lighting products for the aftermarket, has signed a letter of intent to sell a portion of ownership to a Chinese investment group called Street Glow (Hong Kong), Ltd. This group includes members from Street Glow’s long-time Chinese vendor which manufactures virtually all of the Street Glow brand of Auto-Neon and performance lighting products. With the sale comes some internal restructuring, the company said. Lou Merz, who joined the company in June 2003, has stepped down as president. John Bailey, Street Glow’s CFO since 1998, will assume COO duties and responsibilities. The company will not be naming a new president.

Pep Boys Stores to Carry Royal Purple Synthetic Lubricants

Starting this month, Pep Boys will carry Royal Purple’s high-performance synthetic lubricants at its stores nationwide. Royal Purple’s line of synthetic lubricants and additives includes engine oils, transmission fluids, gear oil, coolant additives, fuel system cleaner, power steering fluid, chain lubricant, penetrating lubricant, assembly lube and shop compressor lubricant.

Torvec Appoints New Management Team

Torvec Inc., a Western New York-based automotive technology firm, has appointed new executives to the positions of CEO, CFO and chairman of the board. Richard Ottalagana, co-founder of PaeTec Communications, a national communications company where he served as executive vice president, has been named CEO of Torvec. Ottalagana replaces former Eastman Kodak Co. executive Eric Steenburgh who has served as CEO and chairman since 2002.
