ASC Enhances Technical Services Staff
ASC has announced the addition of Todd Machan to its staff. Machan will take on the role of “Technical Services Specialist” at the ASC Industries world headquarters. Machan is an ASE certified parts specialist and brings more than 13 years of automotive jobber and retail experience to ASC. He has held various positions throughout his automotive based career, and brings an excellent perspective on what is required to service customers at all levels, said ASC.
More Than 300,000 Tests Taken in CCAR’s S/P2 Online Training
The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) has surpassed 300,000 tests taken in its “S/P2” online training in Safety and Pollution Prevention for the automotive repair industry.
Polk Canada, Inc. Changes Name to R. L. Polk Canada, Inc.
R. L. Polk & Co., the world’s largest automotive market intelligence, database marketing and retail consulting company, announced that its Canadian subsidiary has changed its name to R. L. Polk Canada, Inc. as part of the company’s overall global branding strategy.
Noble International Raises Annual Dividend
The board of directors for automotive parts supplier Noble International has approved an increase in its annual dividend to $0.40 per share of common stock. The higher payout represents an increase of 25 percent from the current annual dividend of $0.32 per common share. The new quarterly payout of $0.10 per common share will be paid on the next quarterly dividend.
Family Affairs at Two North American Supplier Giants Could Spell Trouble
The family ownership rampant among mid-sized German suppliers is sometimes seen as a liability compared to North America’s bottom line-obsessed car parts makers. But last week, two of North America’s biggest suppliers — Lear and Magna — looked more like fickle family enterprises than the publicly traded automotive giants they are.
Modine Expands Aftermarket Radiator Model Coverage
The aftermarket division of Modine Manufacturing has added more than 100 complete replacement radiators to its 2004 product line. The expanded radiator line, currently available, includes thousands of applications from domestic and import cars and light trucks. Modine’s aftermarket supplies replacement radiators both nationally and internationally, including distribution through major national accounts like NAPA, Pronto, Parts Plus, APA, independent automotive parts distributors, and more than 25,000 local repair outlets.
Sarah Fisher and Larry Hoofnagle to be Featured on C.A.R. Show
IRL IndyCar Series driver and Raybestos Safety Campaign spokesperson Sarah Fisher, and Larry Hoofnagle, director of marketing for Brake Parts Inc., will be featured on the C.A.R. Show radio program on Saturday, January 31. The broadcast will air between 9 – 11 a.m. EST. During the broadcast, Hoofnagle and Fisher will discuss the importance of vehicle maintenance and the need to educate consumers about taking proper care of their vehicle’s braking system through annual brake inspections, maintenance and repair.
