Holley and DuPont to Sponsor Second Annual NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, June 18-20

Holley and DuPont Automotive Finishes, the major sponsors of last year’s inaugural NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, have signed on again for the second annual event. The second annual Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Finishes, is set for June 18-20, at Beech Bend Park, in Bowling Green, Ky. Like last year, Holley is the title sponsor while DuPont Automotive Finishes is the presenting sponsor.

POMONA, CA — Holley and DuPont Automotive Finishes, the major sponsors of last year’s inaugural NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, have signed on again for the second annual event. The second annual Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Finishes, is set for June 18-20, at Beech Bend Park, in Bowling Green, Ky.

“We couldn’t ask for better sponsors,” said Sam Jackson, executive director of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, Calif., producers of the festive 3-day hot rod extravaganza. “Holley and DuPont have long histories within the hot rod and street rod communities. They helped make the first National Reunion a resounding success and we look forward to their presence making the second one even better.”

Like last year, Holley is the title sponsor while DuPont Automotive Finishes is the presenting sponsor. “Teaming with the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum on last year’s National Reunion surpassed all our expectations,” said Jason Bruce, director of marketing for Holley, which has been headquartered in Bowling Green for more than a half-century. “The buzz has been very strong on last year’s Reunion. It had everything – street rods, drag racing on all levels, customs, classics and hot rods. No wonder it went over so well. And I think this one will be twice as big.”

Dennis Silva, DuPont Custom Finishes business manager, agreed. “We are still hearing about it. It was the best first-time event we’ve been part of. It was an instant classic. This year will be incredible. We’re glad to be part of the team presenting it.”

Produced by the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Finishes, will include Crane Cams nostalgic drag racing in such classes at Top Fuel, Supercharged Gassers, classic Funny Cars and Super Stocks, along with a giant street rod, customs, classics and muscle car SofffSeal “show n’ shine,” swap meet for classic car and racing parts, special stage show and a separate amusement park with rides and games for all ages adjacent to the park.

Fashioned after the annual NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield, the event also includes the all-time favorite “Cacklefest” under the stars. The activity involves early-days-style front-engine dragsters being push-started, then all gathered together on the drag strip starting-line with engines running.

The Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Refinishes, will also cater to car clubs, with special contests and activities for clubs. Information-including a full activities schedule and entry forms-is available through the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. Proceeds of the Holley Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Refinishes, will benefit the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. The museum houses the very roots of hot rodding. Scores of famous vehicles spanning American motorsports history are on display, including winning cars representing 50 years of drag racing, dry lakes and salt-flat racers, oval track challengers and exhibits describing their colorful backgrounds.
