O’Reilly Automotive, Inc. has expanded its brand presence by rebranding its stores in Mexico to O’Reilly Autopartes. The company, which trades on Nasdaq under the symbol ORLY, made its first international foray after acquiring Mayasa Auto Parts at the end of 2019. Since then, O’Reilly has expanded to over 60 stores across Mexico, all previously operating under the ORMA brand.
The transition culminated on Dec. 9 with stores in eight Mexican states revealing the new signage and celebrating grand openings.
“It’s fitting that we chose the beginning of December to officially announce the name change,” said Greg Johnson, O’Reilly CEO. He noted the timing’s significance, aligning with the 66th anniversary of O’Reilly’s first store in Springfield, Missouri. Johnson emphasized the company’s commitment to the founding family’s values: hard work, honesty and exceptional customer service, which are to be upheld in all locations, including those in Mexico.
The Orendain family, which started its business in 1954, was recognized as sharing O’Reilly’s foundational principles, making the merger a seamless transition. A new distribution center in Guadalajara opened in July to support the growing presence and to maintain the broad product availability in the country.
“We are very proud of our past as it is what brought us here, but we are even more excited about our future as we have very ambitious plans,” said Enrique Orendain, O´Reilly vice president of sales and operations in Mexico.
With the expansion, O’Reilly Auto Parts is also looking to bolster its team at its corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri.
