The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) today announced the passing of longtime staff member Bob Mathews, who died April 10. He was 82.
The association remembered him in the following memorial:
It is with a heavy heart that we let you know of the passing of Bob Mathews on Sunday, April 10, 2011. He was 82, and had been bravely battling cancer for some time. Bob was instrumental in establishing the APRA Technical Service back in 1983. A longtime General Motors employee before joining us at APRA, his extensive knowledge of the industry and his winning attitude made him an invaluable member of the staff. You may remember seeing Bob behind his video camera at different APRA events over the years or recall reading one of his in-depth human interest articles featured in the APRA Global Connection. The glass was always half full for Bob, and he shared his love of life with everyone who had the pleasure to have known him. We are saddened to say goodbye to our friend — he will be deeply missed.
