FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. Organizers for The Work Truck Show 2012 say the event is shaping up to be the biggest work truck event in history when it returns to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis next week.
Already known as "North America’s Largest Work Truck Event," this year’s Work Truck Show is on track to have more exhibitors, more product launches and more attendees than ever before, according to show organizers.
Booth space at the show is sold out, with a record 563 exhibitors displaying the newest Class 1-8 truck chassis, bodies, equipment and components. More than 120 of those companies have announced plans to debut more than 140 new products, from alternative fuel systems to full-size vocational trucks, at the show. There will be plenty of industry professionals on-hand to check out the latest developments: Registration is running 18 percent ahead of last year, event organizers say.
The Work Truck Show 2012 takes place March 6-8. Educational programming, including the Green Truck Summit and the Fleet Management Symposium, starts March 5. The Work Truck Show is produced annually by NTEA, the Association for the Work Truck Industry.
The event covers more than 500,000 square feet and includes more than 60 educational programs, including the day-and-a-half Green Truck Summit, one of the country’s leading educational forums on the advancement of high-efficiency and alternative fuel commercial and vocational vehicles. U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu is the Green Truck Summit keynote speaker. The Summit is jointly produced by NTEA and CALSTART.
Work Truck Show attendees can take part in a Green Truck Ride-and-Drive featuring 21 environmentally friendly vocational vehicles, and also meet with suppliers, network with peers and receive technical and engineering support.
"If you work with commercial trucks, this is the one event you don’t want to miss," says Steve Carey, NTEA executive director.
