BuyAutoParts.com Names New Chief Information Officer

Buy-Auto-Parts-logoSAN DIEGO – BuyAutoParts.com has appointed Adrian Crisan as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). As CIO, Crisan will be responsible for leading the information technology and information systems development at the online auto parts company.

“We are excited to have Adrian join our executive team here at BuyAutoParts.com. He brings a deep set of skills in programming, Web development, problem solving and leadership – all of which we need to move our IT department forward,” said BuyAutoParts.com CEO Dara Greaney. “Adrian’s ability to run fast and make improvements at high speed are rare skills. He’s already pushing the IT department and the company forward faster than ever.”

Crisan has more than 25 years of proven experience in program management, hardware, operating systems, Web services, infrastructures, and software and platform development. He also has more than 16 years of experience managing people and complex projects. Crisan’s career began in 1989 working for Compaq Computer Inc., which later merged with Hewlett Packard in 2002. While at HP/Compaq, he rose through the ranks to become a director of global alliances. In 2007, Crisan moved to San Diego, Calif., where he was hired by Sony Electronics as a director of engineering. Most recently, he was the vice president of software engineering at AutoAnything. Over his career, Crisan has had more than 31 published and issued patents.

“What excited me most about the opportunity with BuyAutoParts.com is the fact that the company is trying to move from an auto parts company that sells on the Internet to a technology company that happens to sell auto parts. The opportunities that come with that transition are large, but so are the obstacles. I am excited by the challenge,” said Crisan.

Crisan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science from Rice University and a MBA from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M.
