From Tire Review
Monro Muffler Brake Inc. has expanded again, purchasing Enger Tire’s 12 locations in northeast Ohio and Durham, N.C.-based Tire King’s nine stores.
Monro plans to operate the newly acquired stores under its Mr. Tire brand.
The Enger purchase brings the number of Mr. Tire locations in Northeast Ohio from 16 to 28. Monro also bought real estate for eight of the sites.
The Tire King buy brings the total number of Mr. Tire locations in North Carolina to 31; the company also purchased real estate for four of the sites.
According to Monro CEO and President John Van Heel, the company has offered all current store employees jobs.
“We are very pleased to add these stores and employees to our company,” he said. “These transactions add stores to important markets we already serve, making Mr. Tire even more convenient to our customers.”
The transactions are slated for completion on Dec. 30, 2012.
