As environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure standards evolve from voluntary practices to mandatory regulations, it is crucial for the industry to stay ahead of the curve, MEMA said. In the organization’s effort to keep members informed, MEMA announced a Sustainability Hour webinar on Monday, April 15, via Zoom. 

The webinar will feature experts from MEMA and Pirelli Tire North America, where they will examine a recently published MEMA Summary along with widely used standards from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Summary topics include:

·     Overview of the European Environmental Regulations serving as a backdrop for the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

·     Pre-existing standards and concepts crucial for understanding the regulatory frameworks, such as materiality

·     Comparison of standards from the EU International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and the U.S. Securities

·     The recent ESG legislation from California adopting a broader approach than the text in the SEC final rule
