MEMA Retools MIS Council; Launches MEMA Technology Council

MTC's mission is to provide a forum for networking and the exchange of best practices focusing on current and emerging technologies that support members' efforts to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — On Jan. 1, the MEMA Information Services Council (MIS Council) became the MEMA Technology Council (MTC) to reflect an expanded focus of the council beyond traditional information services and information technology roles. The focus of the new MTC will include business processes, business intelligence, forecasting and broader data management areas.

Technology is integrated with so many operations areas that the MTC needs to grow beyond its previous focus on IT. MTC said it anticipates reaching new companies and new employees within AASA and HDMA member companies with this new, expanded focus.

MTC’s mission is to provide a forum for networking and the exchange of best practices focusing on current and emerging technologies that support members’ efforts to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

MTC’s key areas of focus include:
• Business processes;
• Supply chain management;
• Business intelligence;
• Compliance;
• Standards; and
• Data management.

Coinciding with the name change is the launch of the Council’s new Web site, www.mematechnology.org. The site offers more information, clearer navigation, new design and links to member-only content.

The MTC’s key events for 2010 are its Spring Meeting, set for Monday, March 15, at the InterContinental O’Hare, Chicago, and its annual Fall Conference, slated for Sunday, Oct. 10, through Tuesday, Oct. 12, Marco Island, Fla.
