CARY, NC — Lord Corp., maker of Lord Fusor Automotive Repair Adhesives, recently received a service award from the Northeast Division of Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR).
Lord received the award for its ongoing support to I-CAR during the last 12 years. According to I-CAR Regional Manager Dave Coffey, Lord has been instrumental in training the collision repair industry on products and techniques as well as how to comply with OEM Technical Service Bulletins.
Lord Corp. was the first adhesive company to offer curriculum by I-CAR through the Industry Training Alliance program and to date has trained more than 12,000 technicians. Formed by I-CAR in 2000, the Industry Training Alliance brings together technical training providers to optimize the educational efforts of the collision industry. Technicians who complete Lord Corp.’s hands-on Fusor 001 Bonding/Repair Curriculum qualify to earn I-CAR Gold Class Points, while learning valuable skills to improve quality and reduce cycle times in the repair process. The Fusor 001 training was developed so auto body technicians would have consistent training throughout the industry.
“Over the years, Lord Corporation and I-CAR have had a strong industry relationship and we share some of the same goals related to delivering training to the technicians and teaching procedures on OEM Technical Service Bulletins,” said Joe Rodriguez, Lord Corp. zone manager. “With all the changes to the new vehicles regarding high-strength alloys, composites and foams, it makes good business sense to work in conjunction with the I-CAR team.”
