KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One of the oldest engine parts distributors in America has just expanded into New England. Based in Kansas City, Mo., Sterling Bearing Inc. has located its new branch at the former location of New England Engine and Parts Warehouse in Worcester, Mass. The new operation has been named New England Engine Pro and distributes internal engine parts, engine kits and related components to qualified machine shops, engine rebuilders and jobber customers throughout the northeast.
Sterling Bearing also operates Sterling Engine Parts in Minneapolis. All three warehouses are members of the Engine Parts Group Inc. (EPGI), which services 31 engine parts warehouses through the U.S. EPGI distributes brand name engine parts as well as a growing line of engine products marketed under the Engine Pro label. The new operation will also offer its own private label products carrying the Blockmaster name.
Sterling’s Chief Operating Officer, Steve Rich, said, “Our expansion into the East Coast will strengthen the Engine Pro name along the eastern seaboard and will provide full coverage of quality engine parts.”
Rich added that Engine Pro distributors are gaining more recognition as a source for high end engine parts at mid-line prices.
Sterling Bearing began in 1936 in Kansas City. It was a founding member of EPGI and maintains an active role in that group’s marketing and management. The company is also a key player in the Engine Repower Council, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association and AERA Engine Builders Association.
