Kent-Moore Introduces Spark-Ignited Direct Injection AFIT Adapter

New SIDI engine technology represents a significant change in the way fuel is controlled and injected into the cylinders of the engine, the company says.

WARREN, Mich. — Kent-Moore, an SPX brand, announces the introduction of a new service solution for diagnosing fuel injection systems on GM vehicles equipped with Spark Ignited Direct Injection (SIDI) engines. The new SIDI AFIT (Active Fuel Injector Tester), Adapter Kit (CH-47976-500) helps technicians easily diagnose the correct component failure within the vehicle’s engine, eliminating the need to dismantle the vehicle’s fuel system during diagnostic procedures.

New SIDI engine technology represents a significant change in the way fuel is controlled and injected into the cylinders of the engine, the company says. These advanced fuel systems are dramatically different from previous port injection systems and present new challenges to technicians who service them on a regular basis. The SIDI Adapter Kit connects to the Kent-Moore GM AFIT (CH-47976), automating the diagnostic process, providing accurate, reliable and consistent information about all elements of the fuel injection system.

CH-47976-500 allows the AFIT tool to quickly diagnose multiple fuel system faults such as: crank no start; hard start; power loss; injector wiring codes; misfire codes and bank lean/rich codes within an SIDI fuel system. Test results that can be downloaded to any shop PC, aiding in vehicle service documentation. This advancement in service technology ensures the technician is diagnosing and fixing customer’s vehicles correctly and efficiently the first time.
