CHICAGO – Katie Whiting has been named product manager, aerosols, for Valspar. Her appointment was announced by Jane Ryder, Valspar’s senior marketing manager, global aerosols.
“Katie brings a wide range of marketing skills to her position as product manager, which will enable her to hit the ground running as we continue to expand the brand recognition for our Plastikote automotive aerosols as well as our Valspar brand,” said Ryder. “We are excited to have Katie working with us at Valspar and we know she will do a great job in managing our extensive portfolio of aerosol products.”
Before joining Valspar, Whiting advanced to senior marketing manager at Juice Tyme, a Chicago-based maker of shelf-stable juices and beverage concentrates. At Juice Tyme, she created and implemented yearly strategic marketing plans and executed all corporate marketing initiatives, including local marketing efforts for all regional markets. Whiting also was responsible for the development of all branded materials such as website, collateral and point-of-sale materials and packaging.
Whiting began her career as assistant marketing director at Aquent Marketing Staffing (AMS) in Chicago. A graduate of Indiana University, she is pursuing a master’s in business administration from Dominican University in River Forest, Ill.
