DETROIT — ASC Inc., a full-service specialty-vehicle development partner for automotive manufacturers, has named Jerry Mosingo COO, effective immediately. He replaces Scott Koepke, who has been named COO of ASC-Yachiyo Manufacturing Ltd. (AYM), an ASC joint venture company in Columbus, Ohio. Both executives will report to ASC’s president and CEO, Paul Wilbur. Mosingo’s COO assignment is expected to last through 2004.
Mosingo most recently worked for Collins & Aikman Corp., where he had been CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors. Prior to his appointment as CEO in August 2002, he served as executive vice president for plastic components and cockpits, Collins & Aikman’s largest operating unit with $1.8 billion in sales. He has more than 30 years of operating experience, and previously served in various senior operational and manufacturing positions within Textron Automotive’s trim division prior to its acquisition by Collins & Aikman, positions including executive vice president of manufacturing and senior vice president of operations.
Koepke joined ASC in 1999 as president of ASC Composite Systems. He later served as president and COO of ASC Exterior Technologies (formerly JPE Inc.), where he achieved a turnaround of that organization’s automotive-trim and aftermarket heavy-duty truck businesses. He was named ASC’s COO in July 2002. Prior to ASC, he spent two decades at Owens Corning, most recently as president of that company’s global engineered-pipe systems operations.
