Instrument Sales and Service Inc. (ISS) of Portland, Oregon, has announced the appointment of Ron Freeman as its president and CEO.
Gary Jacobs, chairman of the ISS board of directors, stated, “Mr. Freeman will be responsible for executing the company’s strategic initiatives to achieve accelerated sales growth by introducing new product/service offerings and executing our expansion plans. This will further enhance the company’s leadership position in product line transfer management and remanufacturing solutions for Fortune 500 OEMs. ”
Sean Kelly, outgoing CEO, who will continue to be a part owner and board member of ISS, added, “ISS is pleased to have Ron on board. His experience as an innovator in the automotive industry is extensive and I am certain he will continue to enhance our product offerings, high level of customer service and sales support to our established customer base.”
Prior to joining ISS, Freeman was the president and CEO of AAMP Global in Clearwater, Florida, where he spearheaded the company’s global expansion to become an international leader in automotive electronics, innovation and technology. He served as president and CEO from 2007-‘15 and was elevated in 2015 to chairman, to focus on strategic growth activities. During his tenure at AAMP, he orchestrated the company’s growth strategy, including the acquisition of seven companies. AAMP Global has 250 employees and services more than 5,000 customers from eight facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Taiwan.
Freeman stated, “I am excited to join the team at ISS and very impressed with the company’s 60-year history of leadership in the automotive industry and their focus on excellence in customer service and support.”
Freeman has served as a speaker at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas and served on numerous Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA) boards, including as chairman/vice chair of the Vehicle Technology Board, chairman of CTA’s division executive board and on the executive board since 2014. CTA produces the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and Shanghai, China with more than 2,500 exhibitors and 175,000 attendees.
As a hands-on leader and innovator, Freeman is respected as a technology visionary as well as a strategic planner and hardworking team builder, the company noted. Freeman also serves as a mentor to entrepreneurs and start-up companies guiding them in best practices, business planning and strategies for success. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology in electronics with a minor in digital audio from Missouri State University.
