STAUNTON, Va. – Federated has named Al Joyner to the newly created position of director of data management. 
Joyner, who has more than 25 years of experience in the aftermarket executing and operating data management programs, is responsible for implementing Federated’s new Enhanced Supply Chain (ESC) data warehouse on behalf of the Federated membership.
“We are extremely fortunate to find a person of Al’s experience and expertise to put our new ESC data warehouse into operation,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “We needed someone who could hit the ground running and, with his background, Al met all the criteria we were looking for. Our ESC data warehouse will provide our vendor partners with better visibility, enable our members to achieve inventory and sales optimization, streamline marketing activities and help drive long-term sales growth.”
Prior to joining Federated, Joyner was the director of data management for Uni-Select, where he was responsible for overseeing data content, e-business solutions, e-commerce and data warehouse functions. He also held previous positions within the company as director of store marketing programs and operations support manager.
Joyner also spent several years at Parts Depot, where he served as vice president of operations support, supervising the daily functions of the merchandising, marketing, inventory management, pricing, purchasing, store operations support and web development departments. At Parts Depot, he also served in the position of director of store operations support.
Joyner began his aftermarket career at Advance Auto Parts where, for more than 20 years, he held a variety of positions including director of MPT, director of customer service, division manager and store manager.
